Saw it in the NY Auto show.
An untouchable RAV on a rotating platform.
No mileage info, No feature info.
    Front end was updated.

When I asked for details on the hybrid. I didn't receive any.
But, was repeatedly asked for my email address.
Or told to keep checking the Toyota website.
I opted for the website check.
    Nothing much there yet.

    Bumped to 2016.
    Took some pix also.

    Ha!
Thanks Wayne, That's the article that got me revved up in the first place.
    Much more informative than Toyota.

I'm sure there was a demo to promote the tech at the show.
I missed it and staff didn't know when it was next scheduled.

I'm looking at the RAV, Escape, CRV type as a next purchase.

I already knew where to go for the best info.
    Thanks Again,
    Tom

    Hi Tom:

Glad to be of help. I am looking forward to it too although I was not so impressed with the Lexus NX 300h. Very pricey.

    My dealer emailed me today..
Richard, the long-awaited RAV4 Hybrid has arrived. It gets 33 mpg instead of 25 mpg, but still has all wheel drive, generous cargo space etc. Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested.

I should go over and take a test drive! :)
Need to get the Prius C over for it's recall fix..

    Cheers,

    Hi Rich:

Keep the Prius c and watch the RAV4 Hybrid. Trying to get a cool drive off the ground right now with a few in fact. :)

I guess this is the official thread, so yes, I've picked one up Tuesday, and it's already killing the EPA.

The latest FE on an 81mi trip is 43.3. With an average speed of 46 you can tell most of it was highway with limited traffic and cruise at 59 or 65. Unbelievable for a 4000 lb AWD vehicle with not-ideal aerodynamics.

So far I'm really impressed with all the features. Entune is slightly awkward, but there is a setting for almost everything that can be changed to remove any annoyances.

Thanks, I'll enjoy it while I can. The 40+'s will be gone as soon as winter happens. If it happens. I'm not complaining at 69F in December.

People who drive hybrid CARS ( not school buses like this thing ) are not impressed, Some of them are snickering.

I already have a hybrid CAR. The one parked next to it. What is your point?

Most of those snickering hybrid car owners probably aren't even getting significantly better fuel economy than that 43mpg.

    Hi Rich:

Regarding Mike's post, in an ultra modern CUV too!

Well, I dig it. My non-hybrid can match it on the highway but I have no doubt the Rav4 Hybrid (RavHy? HyRav? Hy4? Ravbrid?) will destroy it at lower speeds despite being larger and more versatile with the foul-weather benefit of AWD. If I were shopping I'd put it on the list.

In 69 deg F , I am. Best tank from the summer was around 65.5 MPG ( actual) on my mostly highway drive.

Apples of different shapes and sizes which lend them different capabilities. Seriously, what's with the blatant disrespect?

"apples to apples" means my result was based on similar highway/city mix and similar temperature. Did I somehow offend you as well ?

And people still say that hybrid owners aren't smug.
