    Hi All:

Spent all-day yesterday loading up a 24' box truck at two homes…

So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly. Hills that is. Swimming pools and movie stars...

Actually we spent the day loading up my sons and his wife's stuff for the long drive to draught stricken San Diego, Calif. with maybe 15 to 20% of the load being ours...

In case anyone is interested, $3,404 incl. a car tow dolly and tax for the 24' GMC behemoth. That does not include fuel which will add another $600 at maybe 10 mpg as a guess? A coupon saved almost a grand over the regular price.

I am staying in IL for the time being while we continue to negotiate with buyers...

    I guess at least 14 if you're driving and it's a diesel.

I was amazed that a friend managed about 12 mpg in one of those things moving from Richmond, Va. to Columbia, S.C. in a then-new gasoline Ford. That was despite towing a dolly carrying the front of her car, while its rear wheels were rolling with the parking brake on (a sad story). When she later moved the same stuff to Champaign-Urbana, she found a Penske diesel GMC. (MPG results that time unknown.)

    Hi All:

My son Mark made it at 12.2 mpg with the Corolla being towed on a dolly behind. Not bad imho.
