See that , Charlie ? Diesel is $.02 more than regular gasoline. Here in IL , I am seeing a $.10 difference. It seems that the higher the price of gasoline is, the smaller the differential between diesel fuel and gas.

Wayne, this is one nice automobile.

Not to mention, a gas Mercedes would probably burn premium.

    Hi All:

    2014 Mercedes-Benz E-250 BlueTEC Review

Marian's drive home from work tonight.

18 miles - 35.1 mpg - 26 mph avg speed with a stop at Costco.

    Marian's apartment garage.

Marian’s comments from her drive to and from work today. Doors and steering wheel are really solid. Way better than the Prius PHEV-11 and the MDX. She does not like all the auto safety functions beeping, shaking the wheel, and different color lights in the mirrors, and up front.

She could not work the radio or HVAC controls very well. Gear shift lever and its controls were hard for her to get used to as well.

Voice navigation does not work as well as it should.

I used the Max Defrost two mornings ago and it took just 4-seconds to clear the windscreen. Best I have ever experienced by any other manufacturers defrost system ever.

    Hi All:

Can you get to much California in just over a week?

I am almost stuck eating fresh broccoli, fresh organic strawberry's, chicken, organic salads, organic banana's - WTH is an organic banana??? - and drinking organic milk.

I cannot wait to get home, crack open a can of Hormel Chili, and enjoy processed food with a 2L bottle of Pepsi or RC the way food and drink are supposed to be enjoyed... Again. Or not.?

So tonight I took the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC to an In-N-Out tonight for real American food. :)

    Hi All:

This mornings RT commute. This traffic is just ugly around here. I tried to remember Marian's shortcut from yesterday and got caught in a dead end subdivision. In any case, 50 + mpg in traffic and especially on the wide open Interstate from the Big E is almost too simple.

Friday morning between San Diego and Carlsbad was tough but typical. Along the way I saw another 2014 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC owner. He’s got good taste.

Friday afternoon between San Diego and Carlsbad to pick up Marian was madness. Back was not much better but the results were.

16 miles to work at 42.8 mpg and 19 mph avg speed. 18 miles from work at 54.7 mpg and 31 mph avg speed.

This shows what just 1 mile of surface streets will do to avg. speed.

... and can manage a bit over 57 mph on 1 gph, slightly faster than a Mirage or Prius V.

    Hi All:

While Mercedes-Benz was advertising the E250 BlueTEC at 28/45 mpgUS city/highway, there has been a quiet restatement of some sort? I saw it on the EPA site a few weeks ago with the MB E250 BlueTEC showing 28/42. Within the last week or so, MBUSA.com has come around and is not posting the lower mpg ratings within their specification page.

I have a few stories to fix now. :(
