New micro site for Kia Rondo in Canada.
    http://www.kia.ca/rondo/index.html

Looks like a very nice styling update for this 5-7 passenger vehicle.
My brother-sister-inlaw had this as there latest vehicle with 5!!! kids. Amazing vehicle and mileage considering the utility.
Compare this to any "mini"-van and the milage is awesome.

Curious if anyone has any info on the Kia 2.0l GDI engince? Sounds like a really nice setup for fuel economy records for a 7-passenger in North America!

    Thoughts? anyone?

Rated (canadian) 30/46 mpg (imp gallons)? What's the Elantra rated, so we can compare?

    Edit: found, working on conversions...

    Rondo: 25/38
    Elantra: 33/45

    US EPA ratings:
    Elantra: 28/38
    Rondo (estimated): 21/32

Good, but not amazing. Mazda's 5 rates at 22/28. Their CX-5 which gives a clue what a Skyactiv-upgraded 5 would do is rated 26/35.

Sorry for the delay. We dont use the Canadian Ratings from NRCan as they are not even realistic for comparisons.
We have to use EPA if the model exists in both US and Canada.
Good idea looking at the CX-5 and Elantra.
I was curious if anyone had any real world numbers with the 2.0l KIA GDI engine. Is there a 2.0l Hyundai with this engine? The Elantra is a 1.8l.

The 2.0L in the Rondo appears to be the same one used in the Soul - it's a stroked 1.8L - same 'Nu' engine used in the Elantra. The Soul 2.0L is rated at 25/30.

I think the 2014 Tucson is going to be getting the Nu 2.0 GDI to replace the current 2.0/2.4 Theta MPI engines, and the weight/shape of the Tucson will probably be a closer match to guess at what the 3250-3500 pound Rondo would offer on the US EPA test.

It's interesting that the Rondo never seemed to bring any discussion till now, even though it won't be sold in the US. Maybe it's not too surprising, though, considering the older versions mediocre FE. This new 2.0l should be a huge improvement, even if it doesn't match a CX-5.
