I added a market share sales chart to each of the monthly sales reports beginning with September. Let me know what you think I should change. Chart type, layout, dimensions, data series, axis additions...

I like it! The chart is BIG, though. I'd prefer maybe half that size. Same thing with the speed/mpg charts - don't need that much size to convey the information.

    Hi Andrew:

I shrunk it by a third.

Let me know what you think as placed in the (2) Sept. 2012 Sample Sales reports with the two pie charts embedded.

2013 Chevrolet Cruze – $17,130 to start while providing a lowly 22 mpgUS city rating when purchased with the 1.8L and the 6-speed AT (do not buy this variant) to a class leading 42-mpgUS highway rating from the 1.4L mated to a tall geared 6-speed MT in the Cruze Eco that will cost you another $2,550 to own.

For 2013, the Cruze received the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, standard on 2LT, Eco and LTZ models and available on 1LT. Two audio systems – including an AM/FM audio system with GPS-enabled navigation and a seven-inch-diagonal color touch-screen, are also new for 2013.

Cruze also adds an Enhanced Safety Package – available on LT, Eco and LTZ models – that offers crash-avoidance technologies such as Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and rear park assist.

All Cruze interiors include premium materials equipment, including A/C, anti-theft system, USB port, adjustable steering wheel with audio controls, AM/FM stereo system with CD player, MP3 playback capability, six speakers, auxiliary jack for personal playback devices, two power outlets, remote keyless entry and a trial subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

    GM September Sales Results

GM this morning reported September U.S. sales of 210,245 vehicles, up 1.5 percent compared with a year ago. Sales of GM’s mini, small and compact cars were up a combined 97 percent while all GM brands increased their retail sales.

September’s car sales increase reflected a strong start for the new Chevrolet Spark (2,223), continued strong sales of the Chevrolet Cruze (25,787) and Sonic (7,525), and a second consecutive sales record for the Chevrolet Volt (2,851).

While truck sales were down 20 percent, GM explained away the sales hit due to a 46 percent year-over-year reduction in fleet sales. In the large pickup segment, GM’s total sales were down 12 percent and fleet sales were down 56 percent. All told, this is not a good sign and the all-new 2014 needs to arrive yesterday :(

That looks like a good size to me. Text is a little small now, though.

It tells me things I didn't know before. It's a good addition.

I like that! It's easier to read the text on a white background. Just right, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, much, much improved legibility on the last version. However, I'm not fond of pie charts in general. A simple table provides the same information more efficiently, although it's not as "pretty" and doesn't illustrate differences as dramatically to the innumerate population.
