Thanks. I'll check that first, before pulling one off.
I wouldn't worry too much yet, break-in and all that.
Yup - scanned the xB fourms. Thanks for saving me the time there. Scion wheels going on craigslist
If it's any consolation, the Elantra GT and most other Hyundai 5-bolt cars have a very common bolt pattern (5x114.3, 67.1mm center), thanks to the odd partnerships formed over the years. Naturally, Hyundai and Kia wheels swap evenly. Since early Hyundai models were designs licensed by Mitsubishi, the Mitsu wheels (Galant, Lancer, Eclipse) fit. And since Mitsu partnered with Chrysler, many Mopar wheels (200/Sebring, Avenger, Caliber) fit. And Kia had parterned with Mazda years ago, so Mazda (3, 6) fits, and with Ford/Mazda working together for so long, so do Ford Fusion and Focus wheels. The only limitation is that you need 15" or larger wheel diameter for brake clearance. So if you find wheels for an old Mazda 626 and they're 14's, they won't work.
Stock tires on the gt were all at 44 from the dealer or factory.
Yup - They're at 44 during shipping to prevent flatspotting. Supposed to be set to placard during PDI but it's not always done. Heck, during PDI, they're supposed to preset a few radio stations. But even that is usually lost in the process, especially at higher volume dealers that peel of the protectoplastic, vacuum out any packing labels and send it through the car wash to get it ready to roll.
I got to drive it over the weekend. About 30 miles, stop and go driving with 4 adults in the car. First time driving it too. Without much effort got the lifetime mpg up from 31.6 to 32.1. Real happy with her car choice this time around. She seems to be too. She brought in the owners manual to read.
Good for you and more importantly, good for her!
If you want, record the odometer and aFCD prior to and after you complete you next drive and we can back calculate what that segment mpg was.
I sure do like your car! I saw a white one with the tech package when leaving church yesterday and wished it were secretly mine
2 years later, she still loves the elantra. This is a first! Usually by now in the life of a car she's not picking and complaining about everything to justify getting a new car. Not this time! The elantra is her "favorite car ever"
So good to hear! Still wish the 1.8L was offered in the current GT vs. the 2.0L that was installed after the first year.
