    Torque-to-weight ratio is the more critical ratio in that situation, where torque includes multiplication of engine torque by overall gear ratio, adjusted for differences in tire size.

    How do the overall "gear" ratios of those cars compare to the Hondas in question?

    Load. I think that's the answer. The engine is revving higher, but it's lightly loaded so there's not much force being applied.
