Cold Air Intake - anyone using one?

So if i'm collecting my thoughts correctly.... A cold air intake will not increase MPG, but it won't necessarily hurt it either, and you will see increased HP.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but with a Cold Air Intake, fuel economy should suffer much more so in winter with cold weather, correct?

HP increase is also very marginal. Depending on the application, there might be a 1-2hp gain.

Does the MPG suffer in the winter?

    Andrew,

Are you using a cold air intake??

I know in general the MPG is worse in the winter, just curious if the CAI makes it MUCH worse.

It depends on how you drive and if you use the extra power for good or for evil.

Do you notice a boost in power during the fall as the air cools?.. I do, thats nature's cold air intake.

I use the stock intake. I have a short drive and with hypermiling the car takes longer to warm up. (less fuel burned = less heat) I need all the heat I can get in there.
