Hello to all D$W/MiHG members and friends,

As the heat and humidity of summer wanes and there are signs of fuel costs dropping, it’s a great time to come and relax with your friends at D$W/MiHG. We’ll do some planning for future events and we’ll test our knowledge as we break into teams for our “Fuel for Thought” segment. An update and feedback from our members regarding this years Green Drive Expo will also be on the Agenda as well as a participants view of the Guinness World Record breaking “Hybrids on Parade” held the weekend of the Expo. We also should be expecting some of the 30 new D$W/MiHG members that we talked to and signed up the Green Drive Expo as well. Lastly, we will talk about plans for our annual Prius Electric Block Heater Install Party, which will be held in the coming months. Good friends, good knowledge, good deals, good food and good training; what a good way to spend a leisure Saturday!

Another exciting attraction will be the introduction sale of the new Linear Logic ScanGauge E-Gauge. This is Ron’s latest ScanGauge and it finally is what many have been waiting for…a ScanGauge under $100. What’s better yet is, as a D$W/MiHG member we will be selling this new SG-e for $85 (with $5 shipping for our out of town members). That is the best price you can get anywhere other than CleanMPG and the win-win with each sale is that a small portion of the sale goes to support your D$W/MiHG activities. We currently have them in stock and they will be available at this and every other Meet. At GDE2011, we sold about 15 of these units and this is your chance to get the best OBD2 scanner on the market with a very, very short Return On Investment. This is a great entry level price to save, 10%, 20%, 30% or more on your fuel costs and be a safer driver too.

For our first timers, here’s the way things generally work at a meet. We begin to gather in the Library parking lot about 9:15am to schmooze and show off our vehicles. If the weather is good, we’ll begin check-in and our VTP’s (Vehicle Tire Pressures) at that time. At 10:00am we’ll begin to setup our room and by 10:20 we should be set to begin our introduction round robin and/or a “Fuel for Thought” quiz. We’ll have a short session and then take a short break for snacks and item sales. We’ll then have our main session and offer some updates, reviews, news, short subjects and door prizes and then break for lunch about 12:00 pm. After our potluck lunch, we’ll begin our Drive $mart sessions about 12:30 pm and begin cleanup. Beverages and utensils will be supplied but we encourage all attending to bring some food to share. (Main dishes are greatly appreciated). Be prepared to be gracious, with the understanding that the agenda usually does not follow the timeline.
