Are you across the Mississippi? Just saw tweet that they are closing I-40 there (LR to Memphis) due to flooding.

    Hi Ksstathead:

After your post, we are looking into it! We are about 200-miles from the Mississippi right now... Wow, this is going to be a challenge after all :D

I'm thinking 34.25 mpg. I might be a little high (pass the doobie) :D but looking at the elevation chart it looks do able.

    Hi All:

In Sallisaw, OK, we had to take down Mr. Stay Puft and he was sad :)

    Hi Ksstathead:

Thanks for the heads up and we'll do whatever we have to do :) We are headed to pick up Brandon Daly at the Greyhound in Memphis (on the east side of the river) and we'll get there when we get there I guess?

All said, this is a challenge after all ;)

The detour adds ~18 miles to our route. Road quality is unknown and traffic may be an issue. It looks like we may have slowdowns in multiple towns instead of interstate-style bypasses.

Edit: so far only westbound is closed. So far so good...

    Don't mess with moving water.

That's a difference of only 0.072 from my guess! (at this point in the trip)

    Keep it up!

We got past the flooded area, eastbound was wide open. Westbound had a detour and traffic was lined up for a good 5+ miles.

    Hi All:

Here is the problem on I-40 in Arkansas…

I-40 Westbound about 30-miles east of Little Rock.

Over the median was about 1’ or more of water…

I-40 Westbound at I think US 49 was where the diversion was happening.

We were very fortunate to be traveling Eastbound on I-40 as the back up was hours and the diversion is another few hours… “We heard”. I am not sure what is ahead but we hope everything is good?

Brandon, we are < 50-miles from Memphis so expect us soon :)

Not to make a big issue, but my entry was 33.00 MPG not 33.30.
My guess is that neither # is close, anyway.

    Welcome to Tennessee!

Memphis just ahead… and the flooded Mississippi beneath.

All my pics of the flooding along the mighty Mississippi turned out worthless so just take our word for it. There was a lot of flooding.

Is it possible to have a couple of shots in L/100km?

Do you think if it was a super cab instead of a crew cab the savings would be higher?
