Okay, this is bugging me. I've already tried that. Let's go through the options, shall we?
Direct substitution does us no good as the alphabet only has 26 letters -- which makes anything above that number garbage. Modulo 26 (0-25) we get this sequence instead:
13 21 16 8 14 10 == n v q i o k
If for some reason you are using A=1 instead of A=0 you still get "m u p h n j"
Try adding the numbers in each slot:
12 11 6 14 5 1 == m l g o f b (l k f n e a)
-6 -3 2 2 -3 1 == u x c c x b
Nothing. No help.
How about each and every number?
39 47 42 86 14 10 == dj eh ec ig be ba
Still garbage. Even if I assume the last two number clusters are not two letters but one because they are less than 26, use A=1 instead of A=0 I get "ci dg db hf n j"
my sediments exactly, sean
Another Hint....and you should get it with this one.... "How is temperature measured?" (Not the instrument)
with a thermometer
With a thermometer using bimetalic strips, mercury, or thermocouples utilizing a scale of Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin.
Assuming the numbers are one scale and converting to the other doesn't help me as I end up with fractions.
well, thanks......at least i aimed for the lowest common denominator
though i do admit to trying to fiddle around with the F/C connection
Hmmmm...what are the clues....
Hiding in plain sight.
How do you measure temperature?
this just might help...sincerely..bestMAPman
Steganography is the science of hiding one message inside another message - hiding in plain sight, so to speak. Think of steganography as the soft-spoken yet elegant sister of cryptography. Where cryptography scrambles a message to prevent unauthorized people from reading it, steganography opts instead to hide the message in such a way that it is not obvious that there is anything there to see.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway!!!
the GIRL gets it:Banane44:
Nice work, Laurie!! Now I can stop fretting over this.
Thank goodness for the GIRL cause this GUY is still lost and will have to take your word for it. Nice work!
Latitude and longitude coordinates, my friend. Check out GoogleMaps.
AH! Jud's MAP clue makes sense now. Ok, where is the banana with the light bulb lighting up above his head?
39* 47" 42' x 86* 14" 10'
Now listen to JAWS music.
I think I have been hearing JAWS music for the last couple of days. I'm not sure what's up yet.
___This is a really fun thread and way to go Laurie! The answer is only a clue within a larger clue before the actual “news” is released Larry now has all the entire picture and has been sworn to secrecy under the penalty of his Prius having to tow an FSP for the next 500 miles so as to give everybody else a chance as well
I probably have access to the same secret...penality if I disclosed would probably be degrading my Insight to this one
I'm sewing my lips shut. I'm taking NO chances.
wonder if this could involve pine tar? Hummmm
Separate names with a comma.
