Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is now available with its own version of Start-Stop.
An engine not running does not consume fuel nor does it emit pollution from the combustion process. Mercedes-Benz is now offering the Sprinter with what they call, ECO-Start to reduce fuel consumption, lower the vehicles smog forming emissions and reduce its carbon footprint. If the ECO-Start equipped Sprinter is stationary with the engine idling and the transmission in neutral for more than three seconds, the engine will automatically shut down. When the driver depresses the clutch pedal, the engine re-starts.
